How to survive in the Bush!

What is the S.T.O.P acronym for survival?

  1. The S.T.O.P acronym means Stop, Think, Observe and Plan.

Shelter Badge (Final)

This is my teams shelter we made from a Tarp and some rope. The build was successful as you can see in the picture. We worked together as a team very well though we did have miner site backs but we did it in the end together. The Hardest thing was probably getting control because at the start it was all over the place. The easiest part was disassembling the tent because all we had to do is swirl the rope around and around.

Tent Planning

This is a rope tarp the rope connects to the trees so if you want to build this tent you have to go somewhere that has trees to  this tree you have to get a rope and a trap and tie it around the trees the tarp have to have holes so that the rope can tie it you have to surround by 4 trees or more it can’t be less because then it won’t be even and the tarp will start going into an angle.

Image result for tents with tarps and ropesThis tent that we think will be great building this keep you from the rain and sticks because it will run off the sides of it because it is on an angle so it will run off. You will only need rope and tarp.

Tent Building Reflection

This is me and my troop making a tent our team is called The Tui's. The hardest thing was proudly dissembling the tent because when we where taking out the poles because the iron thing kept coming of. I think the thing that worked well was the team work we did because we listened to Jessica reading out the instructions and we didn't yell at each other if we did something wrong. I learnt that the iron pegs half to go in on an angle not straight down.

This is what the tent looked like when we finished.
so in the end everything was OK it was nice in the tent.

Shelter Badge

Where is the best place to build a shelter?
I  Think the best place to build a shelter is next to a river so you can get water to drink, and fish to eat the way you get the fish you get a branch and a sharp stone to stab the fish but at least 5 meters away from the river.

What does the shelter need to protect you from? the main thing you want to protect your self from is mosquitoes so I would make a curtain out of tree leafs to block the mosquitoes away.

What materials could you use to build a shelter? I think you can use tree leafs and tree branches and vines to tie the branches together so they can stay secure.

What are some pros and cons of sleeping in a bush shelter? after a long day of being in the bush you should normally stop and set up your camp sight (unless your a night person).

Native Plant Badge

This is my research on Mānuka so I can get the Native Plant Badge.

The other names of  Mānuka are Leptospermum scoparium also known as the tea tree and broom tea-tree.

What humans can use out of it: They can make tea with it.

Where you can find Mānuka: Mānuka is commonly found in New Zealand and Australia.

CC W4 T3 A With Words

This is my Chapter Chat poem for Ghost. It says
Goes faster than the wind.
Has his liking for sunflower seeds.
On the track he's faster than Flash.
Stop isn't in Ghost's dictionary.
Time stops because he's too fast for time.
And I have done The Flash and Ghost racing and Ghost is winning I hope you liked it. 😊
